Ducks in a pond, iridescent wings
Fish in water, flaking scales
Algae stuck to silt, down to black depths
Pinpricks of breath, bubbles on the surface
Words are webs to thoughts
Insychronous to emotion
To the fractures and breaks on the mirror
Of our souls
The cracks split the world
Between my eyes and yours
And shed skin to dragon scales
To consume me in flame
And like a pond
We are as deep to the sky
As scars on our skin
Memories to distort and remember
